Quarantine Cuisine - Wednesday Edition: Hump Day! Posting 6 days worth of meals has been a bit challenging, but I’ll get through it : ) I definitely don’t have anything to complain about in the world we live in right now. We’re just trying to lay low and cook some good food 👩‍🍳 (04.01.20) The weather was finally starting to warm up, so we grilled some @bobsburgersfox poblano-topped cheese burgers paired with local beer (as always). (04.08.20) We tried out a new-to-us ham and bean soup recipe, which was smoky, creamy and delicious. The California Syrah from @solovinowine we paired it with so PERFECT and the darkest red wine I’ve had in awhile🍷 (04.15.20) We used some locally sourced MN walleye to make lemon dill pan fried fish cakes (thanks @michelle5330) - perfect with the bright, Gulfi Italian white wine👍 (04.22.20) We took it easy and made a simple pasta and sausage (handmade ND venison) skillet meal from @budgetbytes paired with a @traderjoes bottle of Nero d’Avola Italian red wine. Simple and yummy! (04.29.20) Black pepper steak stir-fry was on the menu with homemade fried rice and a wonderful Cabernet Franc wine. So great, though someone was quite bored with it all🐱(05.06.20) Supper was delicious, easy, and not prepped by us! A huge thank you to @fancyjanssey for sending Zach home with everything we needed to make Dan Dan Noodles at home 🍜🙌We we’re able to spend some time outdoors enjoying the flowers before heading inside to put everything together and open a bottle of German Gewürztraminer. Quarantine Cuisine - Tuesday Edition: Again, in an attempt to insanely document our meals during this insane time...here is what meals we’ve cooked over the past 6 Tuesdays. (03.31.30) We took a night off and had a nutritious meal of homemade nachos and local beer, but sadly no photo evidence exists 🐱 (04.07.20) We barbecued chicken 3 ways - dry rub, Sweet Baby Rays, and a homemade Habanero Peach BBQ sauce - plus some freshly baked cornbread and a slapped together coleslaw, all paired with local beer @insightbrewing and cider @sociablecider 👌 (04.14.20) We baked a simple homemade lasagna (#comfortfood) with a side of peas, garlic toast, and red box wine. Very low key so again, no pics 🤷‍♀️ BUT dessert was some amazingly delicious pie flavored ice cream from @sweetscienceicecream🍦(04.21.20) We had the chance to use up some homemade pasta noodles we had made months before, topped with jarred pesto sauce sautéed with asparagus and shrimp. That alongside a fresh New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc = springtime in a meal 🙌 (04.28.20) So of course we had a simple meal of nachos (yes, again) with cheap box wine because the highlight of the evening was a virtual blind wine tasting thanks to @solovinowine. I had called weeks before and asked for 2 of the same bottle wrapped in paper bags as part of my order. We then dropped of a bottle off with our friends so we could enjoy the mystery together, but safely and separate. So fun and such a great way to try something new (the bottle was a French Cab BTW), you should definitely try a mystery bottle of your own some time! All of that leads us to tonight...Cinco de Mayo (05.05.20) We grilled steak fajitas, blistered shishito peppers elota style, and pineapple poblano margaritas to get into the spirit.🍹 #stayhomemn #cookingathome #stayhomecooking #homecooking #blindwinetasting

Quarantine Cuisine - Monday Edition: I’ve been slacking on my menu record keeping as of late, so this week I’m attempting to catch up. Here is what we’ve had for supper over the last past 6 Monday’s...(03.30.20) We grilled jerk chicken with a pineapple black bean salsa from @budgetbytes paired with a Hungarian white wine. This $15 bottle from @solovinowine is unique, floral, bright and crisp. (04.06.20) Classic French Beef Bourguignon with a side of lemon peas and a lovely red Burgundy wine. (04.13.20) We made an oven baked orange glazed chicken from @thespruceeats using a homemade marmalade I made last year. I guess I didn’t take a photo, but we made homemade bread and the 🐱 was in attendance. (04.20.20) We took it easy and made a simple chicken Caesar salad (homemade croutons!) with a super delicious, crisp Rias Baixas white wine. Please seek out a bottle of that juice, definitely worth it. (04.27.20) @thelynhall took care of dinner last Monday and knocked it out of the park - we had short ribs, various veggie sides and farro risotto. So delicious with our first 2019 rosè wine #roseallday. (05.04.20) Tonight we made a pork loin braised with mushrooms and wine from the pages of @foodandwine.
